From holidays to family time and everything in between, it can be difficult to remember things like prepping your home for a fuel delivery. With that in mind, our experts have created a handy checklist of things you can do as a homeowner to make it easier and safer for our delivery drivers to bring you the Bioheat fuel you need to stay warm this winter. Easy Ways to Prepare Your Home for a Fuel Delivery
Shovel or Plow Your Driveway
Keeping your driveway free of snow and ice is an important step to ensure a smooth fuel delivery. Remember that our trucks are wider than your car, so they need some extra room!
Clear & Mark Your Fill Pipe
Please be sure to clear away any snow from around your fill pipe so that our drivers can deliver your Bioheat fuel. It might also be a good idea to place a flag or driveway stake near the fill pipe so it’s easy to find.
Cut Away Branches or Bushes
If your fill pipe is near a tree or a bush, we ask that you cut back your greenery, so it doesn’t interfere with the delivery process.
Unlock Your Gates
Have a fence with a gate on your property that’s between our driver and your fill-pipe? Make sure it’s unlocked so our driver can easily deliver your fuel.
Make Sure Animals Are Inside
Please bring your dog or other pets indoors before we arrive to deliver your fuel. Many animals can be frightened by the sounds our trucks make, which isn’t good for us or them!
Move Any Buried Hazards
Many of us have lawn décor, garden hoses, and other objects on our properties that might not get taken inside during winter. We ask that you check the snow for anything that could potentially be a tripping hazard and remove it.
